Well I’ll kick off!
My name is Matt Straight, creator of the KETOFAST program. After a childhood being teased by kids for being overweight, never swimming in public because I was ashamed of my body and my, what the kids called “Man Boobs”, I decided to get into the fitness industry back in 1999 as a gym receptionist. From there I learned how to drop the weight through exercise and better food decisions and in 2000 became a certified personal trainer and in 2002 I studied to become a Nutritionist as I could clearly see that exercise alone will not achieve results. It’s what we put in our mouths today which determines the quality of health we receive tomorrow.
Over the years I have competed in three body building competitions (I now wouldn’t recommend it!), achieved personal trainer of the year back in 2004, have been interviewed by various TV programs to give advice on how to choose trainers and given talks all over the world about health and nutrition as well as personally helping over 1000 people better their relationship with food through personal face to face and Skype consultations. I have set up and run 11 health clubs in the Philippines, India, New Zealand and Australia and had a blast!
Since 2011, I have run an online nutrition consulting business http://www.theonlinenutritionist.net which has allowed me to keep in touch with clients all over the globe.
So that is what I have done, but that is not who I am.
I am a person that has dedicated his life to helping others achieve health, but what I have realised over the years is that I can help someone for a session, for a day, for weeks, but as soon as I stop coaching them, as soon as they no longer feel accountable, they would go back to eating the same way as before and in many cases, put the weight back on. To be honest, it has been hard to not become cynical and feel bad for taking peoples money for my services knowing full well there was an 85% chance they will fail.
I started to wonder why people couldn’t seem to regulate their body weight and appetite through a “normal” healthy diet and exercise. While constant coaching and holding people accountable can achieve short term results, it is restrictive and quite often comes with forced behavioural changes due to external pressure. This encourages us to make decisions out of a place of guilt as opposed to empowerment, creating a negative relationship with food. I had athletes who were doing ten or more hours of exercise per week and they too couldn’t regulate their body weight. I have always exercised five to six times per week, but still unless I was super strict, I could drop body fat and this didn’t make sense. If I as a nutritionist of 16 years and personal trainer of 18 years couldn’t lose fat weight without thrashing my body with excessive exercise, what hope did my clients have?
It wasn’t until my dear Mother developed pancreas cancer and a friend of mine suggested I look further into the ketogenic way of eating that I realised the very real health benefits of eating a very low carb and high fat diet. Unfortunately we found Mum’s cancer too late and lost her to the disease. There isn’t a day go by that I don’t miss my beautiful Mum and I can’t help but wonder if we had caught it earlier and got her on a ketogenic diet, if we could have saved her.
When we knew Mum had very little chance of surviving, as a nutritionist I frantically researched everything I could in regards to how to best tackle cancer from a nutrition standpoint. And all my research pointed to the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting. I wrote myself a meal plan and followed it to the T and I was blown away by the results. The fat lass was quick but that wasn’t my main aim. It was better health and better energy that I was looking for and that is exactly what I got.
Since 2010, no matter what I did, I couldn’t get my weight down from 89-90kg. I was stuck. However after the first week on the KETOFAST program I lost two kilos (4lbs). The following week I dropped another three kilos (6.5lbs) The third week I lost another two kilos and I am now at my healthy weight of 82kg and maintaining muscle mass and staying lean. Sometimes it hard to believe that after all these years, its been so easy and I have done it eating cheesy omelettes with bacon and meals I love!
I no longer crave carb rich foods. I can control my appetite without having to think about it. I have constant energy throughout the day and my exercise performance is better than ever. I just feel great, strong, happy and healthy and that is why I am so passionate for people to try this way of eating. If you can get through the first 28 days, it will seriously change your life forever.
Thank you for reading. I look forward to hearing from you and getting to know you as you inborn on your journey into ketosis with the KETOFAST program.
All the best,
MattIt wasn’t until my dear Mother became sick with Pancreas cancer that I started looking into ways to help her combat the cancer with nutrition that I started heavily researching the Ketogenic Diet and the benefits of

Hi, All. My name is Angie. I just joined Ketofast because I was motivated by a friend’s post about her success. I would like to start the program tomorrow, but I am unable to find the meal plans. When I click on the meal plans button option after I have logged in, nothing happens. Can anyone direct me to where I can find the meal plans so I can begin?
Thanks!

Hi! I am Vanesa. I am taking a break from the finance world to stay at home with my two lovely boys. I have struggled with my weight in my adult years. I do love to exercise and I do love food. I show my love by cooking for others. I have tried various diets but nothing has stuck. I am hopefully for this program because of the research. 28 days seems like a long time but I will tackle it one day at a time.

Hi I am Carrie, 36 year old mum of 3. I have attempted many fad diets but loose motivation after not seeing instant results.
Up until a 3 years ago I have been a very unmotivated person who would find any excuse not to exercise and would comfort eat….. I broke my ankle 3 years ago and I gained weight – this is when I had my wake up call.
I found a love of boxing and spin. I thoroughly enjoy getting into the gym but I find I still comfort eat.I am looking forward to the Ketofast program so not only I learn how this program is effective but also my whole family adapts to this new healthy way of eating.

Hi Everyone my name is Kellie aka Zelzie.
I discovered lchf in September 2015 when a friend of mine couldn’t work out why I wasn’t losing weight even though I was training (boxing & Muay Thai) 4-5times a week. I was doing weight watchers cand couldn’t budge the weight more then 8 kgs. He was talking to a mutal friend of ours who had lost 20 kgs and all he said was google lchf……thats when my life changed. I ended up losing over 18kgs. I went from 119.4kgs to 100.5kgs. I thought for the 1st time in over 20 years i wouldn’t sabotage myself again and be able to get over my 100kg fear and would finally do it, boy was I wrong. There were some issues at work and I ended up putting almost all my weight back on back to anout 114kgs. I restarted about 3 weeks ago, haven’t had the same weight loss results but Im doing this because I know how much better I feel, I know the health benefits, no asthma, more energy, more alert, better skin, more motivation, no anxiety….the list goes on. So I thought I would join Ketofast to help me refocus and to achieve those health benefits again and shift the weight as well.
Looking forward to being apart of the ketofast family
Cheers Kellie -

Hi I’m Carol, I’m 58 and have probably tried every diet known to Man. I always
Lose weight with the diets but then always put it back on. Although I am now in management previously I was a cardiac nurse and so was bought up on no salt, low fat etc so this is so opposite to what I am used to. I think when you listen to the logic behind it, it actually makes sense so am really looking forward to seeing the results. It will be interesting to see how I manage when away from home as I do travel a bit. So far so good. -

Hi folks my names Scott, I am 52 years old and like most have stacked on the pounds as I’ve got older. I’ve been a policeman the last 32 years working rotational shift work for a good 15 years of that time. The remainder of the time I been in supervisory and management positions which has seen me behind a desk in front of a computer. My diet on the beat consisted of any fast food I could get my hands on which was often eaten on the run. Not good for general heath, my weight increased as did my stomach measurement. From the time I started in the police I’ve put on 40kgs, OMG!
This year I became a personal trainer, it was whilst studying that I learnt all about the physiology of the human body, the importance of a good healthy diet and the energy systems that make us tick.
From all the research I have done about a good diet and nutrition, this one seems to make the most sense.
So what am I hoping to achieve? I want to lose some fat to get down to a good healthy weight, reduce my waist size, have more energy and just feel all round a lot healthier. I also want to be able to use my experiences to help my clients achieve their nutritional goals.
I know with the support and guidance of Matt from Ketofast I will reach my goals and more.
Here’s to a healthy future.
Cheers
Scott

Hi All – my name is Carmela. I’ve worked with Matt as a nutritionist before with great success. I moved back to the USA just over a year ago. I’ve indulged in all the foods I missed and realized I really didn’t miss the weight and lack of energy. I’m excited to take this next step in my food/energy education!

Welcome Erica!
I think you will find with the Ketofast program you will feel a lot better and the weight will take care of itself. The loading and burning of carbs, creates inflammation in the body which can lead to a host of other issues. Once your body is fat adapted (Around 7-10 days into the program) you will have a lot more energy and feel great. And the weight will start to come off. We look forward to hearing about your progress in the coming weeks!
Cheers

Hi everyone
My name is jess, I’ve been watching Ketofast on face book for about a week now and decided that I need to give it a go! I’ve never really struggled with my weight, until the birth of my daughter. After having her I heamoraged loosing a significant amount of blood. I had 2 blood transfusions and was on iron tablets for about 2 years after. I have never felt so depleted in my life! I now have an under active thyroid which drives me crazy as I have put on 20kgs in the past 2 years and every time I try to loose weight by excerising I put on another 5kgs! So I’ve decided to try Keto fast! Looking forward to positive results weight and energy levels wise!
